The calendar · Canada · November 2026 to March 2027

The key Canada payment dates for the rest of 2026 are: Canada child benefit on November 20 and December 11, CPP and OAS on November 26 and December 22, the Canada Disability Benefit on November 19 and December 17, and the Ontario Trillium Benefit on November 10 and December 10. Around them sit the federal budget (November 5), the Bank of Canada’s last rate decision of the year (December 9), the final tax instalment (December 15) and the December 31 deadlines for registered accounts. Every date is below, in order, with what to do before each one.

Why a single calendar beats five government pages

Canada publishes its benefit dates on the official benefits payment dates page. The Bank of Canada posts its rate schedule separately, Statistics Canada has its own release calendar, and the CRA keeps tax deadlines on yet another set of pages. Most “payment dates 2026” articles copy just the first one. But your December doesn’t run on benefits alone. The budget can change what you receive, the December 9 rate decision can change your mortgage payment, and the year-end deadlines decide whether you get this year’s tax deduction.

We pulled every date from the original sources and put them in one place. All dates were checked on October 30, 2026. Where the government hasn’t yet published a date, we say so instead of guessing.

Year-end deadlines for registered accounts

The CRA’s pattern for these dates (CRA important dates): FHSA contributions count toward a tax year only if made by December 31 of that year, up to $8,000. RDSP contributions and grant or bond applications for a contribution year close on December 31. December 31 of the year you turn 71 is the last day to contribute to your own RRSP. Unlike the RRSP, the FHSA has no 60-day grace period in the new year.

January to March 2027: what is known so far

JAN

TBC

Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit (formerly the GST/HST credit)

The CRA’s payment dates page lists only 2026 so far: January 5, April 2, July 3 and October 5. A 2027 date hasn’t been posted yet, so don’t count on a specific day. If a payment doesn’t arrive, the CRA asks you to wait 10 business days before calling. See how the benefit works for three different households.

MON

Mar 1

RRSP deadline for the 2026 tax year (our count)

RRSP contributions made in the first 60 days of a year can count for the previous year. For 2025 the CRA’s deadline was March 2, 2026. Counting 60 days into 2027 gives Monday, March 1, 2027. Confirm on the CRA page once it is updated.

December isn’t short of money so much as short of time between payments. The CCB arrives early, the bills don’t.

Three traps hiding in this calendar

1. The payday cluster

November 19, 20 and 26 bring three benefit payments in one week, and Black Friday arrives the next day. Money that lands in a cluster feels plentiful. Give each payment a job before it arrives.

2. The early December deposit

The CCB on December 11 and CPP/OAS on December 22 both arrive before Christmas, but January rent, card bills and hydro still have to be paid after it. Write down your January fixed costs now and set that amount aside from December’s deposits.

3. The rate decision after the shopping

The Bank of Canada decides on December 9, after most holiday spending is already committed. If you carry a variable-rate balance, build a small buffer into your December budget rather than finding out in January.

Put the dates where you will actually see them

A calendar only helps if it lives next to your bills. Write each gold-marked payment date into the same place you track rent, hydro and card payments, and add the expected amount beside it. Then do one simple check: is every bill due between December 11 and your first January payday covered by money that has already arrived? If not, that is the gap to plan for now, while there are still five weeks to do it.

If you’d like this done for you, the Matriarch Money Dashboard is a budget spreadsheet for Google Sheets and Excel where income dates, bills and savings goals sit on one screen. If seeing the numbers makes your chest tighten, begin with the free 7-Day Money Anxiety Reset journal. One more thing worth a look while you are reviewing pay: our gender pay gap 2026 comparison shows Canadian women earn 88 cents per dollar, and what Ontario’s new pay-range rule means for your next job search.

Canada payment date questions people are asking

Why is the December CCB payment early? The CRA schedules December’s Canada child benefit for December 11, 2026, earlier in the month than other months. The money isn’t extra. It still has to cover the period until the next payment.

When are CPP and OAS paid in December 2026? Tuesday, December 22, 2026. Both pay on the same day.

Is there a GST/HST credit payment in January 2027? The GST/HST credit is now the Canada Groceries and Essentials Benefit. The CRA has paid it in early January before (January 5, 2026), but has not yet posted a January 2027 date.

What if my payment doesn’t arrive? Check your CRA or My Service Canada account and make sure your banking and address details are current. For CRA benefits, wait 10 business days after the expected date before calling. For help with money stress or debt, the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) has free guidance, and non-profit credit counselling is available in every province.
